Amr Keshta (2017)

“Thanks to the generous support from the Wetland Foundation’s conference travel grant type 2. I was able to attend the Society of Wetland Scientist (SWS) 2017 annual meeting that was held on San Juan, Puerto Rico June 5-8 2017. During the meeting, I was able to give my talk entitled “Hydropatterns and their effect on soil carbon stocks of natural and restored tidal freshwater wetlands in a Chesapeake Bay tributary”. The SWS annual meeting is a good opportunity where students, professional, policy makers, and industry come and meet together. During the meeting, I was able to meet with other peers, colleagues, and wetland restoration experts.

Having the travel award fund gave me an awesome opportunity to attend the SWS annual meeting 2017. During the meeting, I was awarded the first wetland ambassador fellowship http://www.sws.org/Awards-and-Grants/wetland-ambassadors-graduate-research-fellowship.html

Really appreciate the generous support from the Wetland Foundation for supporting me to make it to such an amazing experience.”
