Developing seed addition strategies to enhance resilience of a restored salt marsh
Seneca Award
“My research aims to address the bottleneck of unsuccessful seed additions
and will find ways to increase vegetation coverage of restored coastal wetlands under
drought conditions. This research will be critical as sea level rise continues to be a
prominent issue for our coastal wetlands, leading to restoration teams needing to find
ways to vegetate large areas of land efficiently and quickly for resilient marshes.
Promoting restored marsh resiliency will allow for these critical wetlands to provide their ecosystem services, while also allowing them to adapt to future stressor events.”
